LeadershipMarly Spence will lead our summer staff and direct the summer camp program. Marly grew up at camps around the country and has held numerous leadership roles at Camp Hanover during the past six years. She brings a wealth of experience, a delightful spirit, and a dedication to the power of this ministry which will guide her in careful selection of college aged or older persons to serve as our summer staff. The staff will demonstrate a zest for life, a desire to grow in and share their Christian faith, and a joy in working with children and youth to create a Christ-centered community. Through intentional training and supervision, the staff will work closely with each camper, seeking to achieve the stated goals of the camp. Camp ChallengesCamp programs are adventurous and may involve risk. By carefully training qualified staff, providing close supervision, strictly adhering to established safety procedures and American Camp Association (ACA) standards, and being ever alert to potential dangers, Camp Hanover aims to minimize risks while leaving the challenge in our program. Camp Expectations of CampersParticipants must be willing to constructively and cooperatively work with staff and group members to build community and face the challenges of rustic outdoor living. Campers give up some personal freedoms so that the entire group can succeed. Group “opportunities to serve” are part of each camper’s day. Campers, if physically able, are expected to be present and involved in all group activities. All Are WelcomeCamp Hanover welcomes persons of every race, color, sex, religion, handicap and nationality. AccreditationCamp Hanover remains fully accredited by the American Camp Association. InsuranceCamp Hanover provides limited primary accident coverage. Illness insurance is the responsibility of the parent/guardian. CampershipsLimited campership funds are available for anyone who might need financial assistance. We will help find a way to make camp finanically possible for every child who wishes to attend. Please contact the camp office for more information.
