Bob
Bob grew up loving the outdoors and being miserable at camp. Isn't it funny how God puts us in situations that we would never, on our own, place ourselves in? A summer of counseling at Camp Hanover in the mid '60's changed his life and allowed him to hear God's call to outdoor ministry. Bob met his wife Lucy at Camp Hanover. They later married, and Bob accepted the position of director at Camp Rockfish, a United Methodist Church camp and retreat center in North Carolina. There, their family grew from two to five, and in 1990, Bob returned to Camp Hanover to direct this fine outdoor ministry. Bob enjoys sports (in particular soccer), being outdoors, journaling, reading (if he can stay awake!), and watching campers grow into responsible adults and Christian role models in their communities. He finds particular joy in seeing campers return later as enthusiastic staff members, serving others, and blessing campers in the way they were blessed. Katherine
It was growing up in church camp that Katherine first experienced the freedom & joy of Christ, and it was there that she first felt God’s call on her life to go into ministry. Katherine began working at Camp Hanover during her summers at Union Theological Seminary & Presbyterian School of Christian Education. Since graduating with her Masters of Divinity in 2002, Katherine has served alongside her husband Minh-Vu in youth and young adult ministries in Florida and Louisiana. She returned to us in the summer of 2007 to share her gifts in ministry, hospitality, development, communication, and art/marketing and has been ordained into this role as a Minister of Word and Sacrament. Cynthia
Cynthia loves to bless people with the comfort of good food. She worked for 27 years in the school system before coming to Camp Hanover in 2004. She enjoys working with the pathfinders in the kitchen, and knows how to put a smile on anyone’s face. Her strong faith and bright spirit are such blessings to this ministry. Minh-Vu
Marly
Marly brings a loving spirit, a wonderful enthusiasm for life, a guiding love for Jesus Christ, years of experience in many of our summer positions, and a proven track record as a weekend host. Marly is serving as Day Camp Director, coordinating weekend hosts during camp’s retreat season, and recruiting weekend workers for the kitchen and adventure activities. Larry
Larry is a retired Airport Police Officer who built the home he currently lives in and has experience in maintaining homes and property for family members. He is an elder at Fairfield Presbyterian where he has been a member for over 40 years. Larry and his wife Elizabeth have two daughters – Lindsey is a first grade teacher in Hanover and Courtney is a senior at VCU. Larry enjoys restoring classic cars at his home in Old Church and displays his cars in local shows. Lucy
Lucy got her camp beginnings growing up on the KY River and going to Girl Scout Camp. After graduating from St Andrews Presbyterian College in the early 70s, she started working at Hanover as a counselor. Bob Pryor was her staff training leader and who after several years of courtship she married. After moving to Camp Hanover in 1990 with Bob and their 3 children, she began coordinating and supervising healthcare in the summer program. Lucy is a registered nurse.
