A wicked and powerful storm blew through Camp Hanover Thursday evening, August 12th.  Fortunately the storm hit right at dinner time so all campers were safe in the dining hall.

The forecast called for rain, and it rained all weekend, but just after lunch on Sunday, the sun broke through and opened up to a brilliant, cool day for this year’s Open House Community Event!

Three-hundred and sixty folks came out for a relaxed afternoon of tours, hayrides, yummy food, face-painting, climbing the wall, running through the high ropes ground school, cooking out around a campfire, canoeing, pontoon boating, disc golf, a yard sale, and great live music.

Thirty-six of these folks were volunteers – who generously stayed busy leading tours, managing the new baby chickens, and keeping every aspect of Open House up and running.

Camp Hanover is seeking a Head Cook who is able to provide healthy, attractive, and quality meals for up to 150 persons in both a summer camp and retreat setting throughout the year.

Position available now.  Weekend work required.  Prefer skills in main-dish preparation and baking.  Looking for a strong team player in a Christian setting.

Person must also be a self-starter and able to work on their own.  Must have own transportation.  Successful applicant may move into managing the kitchen in the absence of the Food Service Manager.

Hourly pay with the possibility of moving into a salaried position with benefits.
