Bring a friend and enjoy a generous supply of fun, excitement, and Christian community. A great way to get an introduction and/or a healthy dose of camp life in this high-spirited short-term program!.

You'll enjoy a wonderful time swimming, trecking through the forest on your very own mini-adventure.

Specially trained counselors will lead you on a fun introduction to camping. Along with making new friends you will be sure to have a fantastic time away from your parents!

Bring your voice, your talent, your instruments—we’re going to sing, dance, and act for God!  This creative arts camp will develop productions centered around the summer theme. Help lead praise and worship experiences.  Blend your God-given talents with those of others as you minister to camper while experiencing much of camp’s traditional community life.

Whether you are committed to preparing for a fall sport or just keeping “God’s temple” fit, this is your opportunity to improve the shape you’re in.  Commit to looking and feeling your physical and spiritual best.  Set your personal goals.  Challenge yourself.  Build your body, build up one another, build your faith!  And enjoy all that camp has to offer too.  Let’s get physical!

Enjoy creating?  Always doing something with your hands?  Like to “do art?”  Come create with us.  Professional artists will teach you and support you as you explore the “artist within.”  You are created in God’s image; God desires for us to use that creativity.   Explore that part of you as well as all the other exciting camp activities.

Age Range: Rising 6th-9th Graders

Always wanted to know what it would be like to get to know, care for and ride a horse for more than just a spin around the county fair riding ring? Well, here’s your chance! You’ll spend every morning at a nearby stable hanging out with these wonderful 4-legged creatures. With certified riding instructors as your teachers, you’ll learn about your faith as you learn about riding. In the afternoons, you’ll participate in regular camp activities as, together, you build a caring Christian community.

Age Range: Rising 7th-10th Graders

Discover another part of God’s creation...under water...through the lens of a snorkeling mask! Learn the basics in the camp’s pool and culminate the experience with supervised quarry dives.  This underwater adventure iis facilitated by certified dive instructors. Special personal equipment is required at additional cost. Successful completion of the course results in SDI Open Water SCUBA Diver certification. This focus is provided in addition to normal camp activities. Meet representatives from our dive partner, Atlantis Divers, at Open House on April 25, 2010!

Day Camp offers a unique opportunity to nurture the children of the congregation in their faith as well as reaching out to children in the local community.

Age Range: Rising 2nd-3rd Graders

First-time campers experience the joy, fun, and challenge of residential camping. You will swim, cook-out, make crafts projects, worship, meet new friends, hike, try the mudslide, walk across the monkey bridge, and eat a s’more or two!

Age Range: Veteran Test Your Wingers or rising 4th graders

Flap your wings and experience camp more fully!  Come fly into three days of fun-filled activities.  Challenge yourself on the bouldering wall.  Make new friends.  Live in Christ-centered community

Age Range: Rising 4th, 5th & 6th Graders

Imagine a week filled with swimming, mudsliding, arts and crafts, cook-outs, nature hikes, making new friends, and putting the lessons of Jesus into practice, as you learn to live with and care for others in a small group! No need to imagine any more...come spread your wings with us!

Age Range: for rising 5th and 6th graders who have previous one-week camping experience

Step up to the challenge of building community while playing and living in the beauty of God’s creation. Learn advanced outdoor skills while taking an extended on-site camping trip. Grow closer to God and your group while digging for “treasures” at an old homestead site, climbing the wall, making a special craft, taking a nature hike, or helping others during an off-camp mission trip. One evening campers will enjoy the opportunity to learn about and ride horses at a nearby horse farm.

Age Range: Rising 7th, 8th & 9th Graders

Pack your bags for an action-filled, community-building week. Get the entire group across the Mohawk Walk, repel down the wall, or engage in conversations that matter. Holler and scream as you spin on the Wink, camp out at the Kissing Tree or Pine Forest. Your group will spend a half day caring for and riding horses at a nearby riding facility. Longhouses all with electricity will be your home away from home. Through all of this, experience Christ’s love and presence in your life.

Age Range: Rising 7th, 8th & 9th Graders

You’re off on a new adventure: an out-of-camp canoeing trip on a scenic river; new friendships; eating hot fresh-baked rolls; reaching out in ministry to those in need through mission projects; challenging yourselves on the new high ropes course; sharing affirmations during the last check-in. Your group will live close to God’s creation in facilities without electricity.

Age Range: Rising 9th-12th Graders

You’ll stay at camp and have time to sample the community-building, fun, and challenging activities on site.  Hang out at the lake, on the high ropes course, and the wall.  Develop friendships, dig deeply into your faith, and learn more about serving others.  A challenging and restful week!

Age Range: Rising 9th-12th Graders and 2010 High School graduates

Surely Christ knew the joy of building and the peacefulness of sailing. These are the foundation blocks of Nail and Sail. This work-camp in the Kilmarnock area will provide an opportunity for hard work, community living, meaningful worship, building friendships, and quality sailing instruction.

Age Range: Rising 9th-12th Graders

Come discover: yourself, others, and the Christ who is present in all of our challenges and fun. Head out of camp on a 2- or 3-day canoeing, hiking, or climbing adventure. Hang out on the high ropes course and spin on the Wink.  Serve others.  Lead and be led; challenge and be challenged. Discover that living in wall tents across the lake is a great way to grow closer to God’s creation.

Age Range: for experienced campers who are rising into the 9th-12th grades

Advanced Adventure

Adventure is what these camps are all about: outdoor adventures; adventures on our journey of faith. You could find yourself on rivers, on trails, on belay, on a mission of service. You’ll learn, and you’ll grow. Outdoor adventure options may include rock-climbing, spelunking (caving), white water rafting or canoeing, hiking the Appalachian Trail, hang-gliding and more. Live close to God’s creation in wall tents. Be part of Christian community at its fullest. These camps promise an unforgettable experience!

Age Range: Rising 9th-12th Graders

What does it mean to be a caretaker of God’s world? Our explorations of caves, rivers and forests will be moderately challenging physically but intensely challenging spiritually and intellectually. Learn and grow and become more responsible for planet earth.

Footsteps is a series of three distinct 1-week camps geared to meet the needs and interests of a variety of persons as you engage a different part of God’s creation. Come for just one or any combination of the three separate weeks.

Age Range: Rising 9th-12th Graders and 2010 High School graduates

Spend a week on Virginia’s beautiful Eastern Shore.  Live at a local church.  Days will be filled with exploring the ecology of the shore, the marsh, and the woodlands; engaging in a service project; enjoying the beach; and viewing the famous Chincoteague wild ponies.  Learn more about yourself and creation through daily worship, Bible study, and group-building.

Age Range: Rising 9th-12th Graders and Camper and Staff Alumni

God calls us into partnership, to work with people in need, to give from our abundance. Work long and hard, serving the Lord with gladness. Current campers and staff from years past will work together to serve our Christian neighbors away from Camp, working on houses of those in need in southwest Virginia. Meet at camp before journeying to your “mission home” at the Tazewell Presbyterian Church where long time mission trip leader, Greg Wood, is now the pastor. All fees for mission camp are tax deductible. Registrations for this camp must be received no later than June 4, 2010! Make your plans NOW!

Hard work, strong community, role models for younger campers, and challenges for one’s faith journey are the cornerstones of this camp. A separate application and three completed reference forms are required. Call or email our office to obtain the necessary paperwork. Pathfinders earn a small stipend, or many choose to use their time to satisfy school community service requirements.
