Holy Balance – Carrying Justice and Mercy as We Walk
“Hear what the Lord says: The Lord has a controversy with his people!”
We hear those words from the prophet Micah, and we’re not that surprised. As individuals and across all peoples, we realize that what we’ve offered hasn’t pleased God.
“With what shall I come before the Lord, and bow myself before God on high?”
We hear those words, and we know the answer already. God has told us what God requires. Do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with God.
But how do we actually walk that way? Can we move boldly and with humility at the same time? How do we carry both justice and mercy at the same time, without toppling to one side or the other? How do we lift, and carry, and hand out to others those holy offerings?
Join Rev. Lisa Salita in exploring these and so many other questions prompted by a study of Micah 6. We will engage in discussion, guided personal reflection, real-world brainstorming, and prayerful movement. We will walk together, as we discern how each of us can walk more closely with God in our prayer lives and in our world.
Our time together will begin with dinner at 6 pm on Friday, September 20 and end at 5 pm on Saturday, September 21
The cost for this retreat is $60 per person and includes lodging, 3 meals, and program.
