No Two Weeks Are The Same
Each group of campers has a hand in designing what the week will look like. This “small group model” is a signature aspect of the Camp Hanover experience. Campers in a group work together to create their week’s schedule. They might choose crafts and field games in the morning with an afternoon of swimming and archery. The next day could be paddle-boarding and the mud slide followed by a nature hike. View the activities available at Camp Hanover.
Guided by our staff, campers gain independence and a sense of ownership of their experience, all while learning about the give and take that is a hallmark of Christian community. Groups also spend time each day in engaging Bible study and meaningful worship, as they explore faith related topics in age-appropriate ways.

Our Staff
The foundation of our exceptional program starts with dedicated staff. We seek out fun, caring, and creative young adults who are passionate about spending time with children and affirming them for their uniqueness as Children of God.
Day Camp staff undergo rigorous screening, including interviews, background checks, and personal reference verification. Prior to the arrival of campers, Day Camp staff complete a minimum of 80 hours of orientation and training in all aspects of summer camp leadership. And since caring for the safety and well-being of your camper is paramount, all staff are trained in CPR and First Aid.
2027 Session Dates
Seven sessions of Day Camp are available. Each session begins on a Monday and ends on a Friday. Families may register for as many sessions as needed. If your camper will be a first grader, second grader, or third grader in 2026-2027, register for Winger Day Camp. If your camper will be in fourth, fifth, or sixth grade in 2026-2027, register for Junior Day Camp.

Why Three Rates?
Thanks to the mission funding we receive from churches and individuals who value Camp Hanover’s ministry, we can offer three rates. The full rate reflects the true cost of camp, what it actually costs Camp Hanover to provide a camp experience per camper. With the partially subsidized and fully subsidized rates, donor contributions offset the reduced price families pay. You choose what rate is most comfortable for you. The weekly fee includes all activities, lunch, and two snacks.
Extended drop off and pick up times are available for an additional fee. Choose early arrival (beginning at 7:30 a.m.) or later departure (up to 5:30 p.m.) or both.

Frequently-Asked Questions
How many campers are in a group? How many counselors?
Groups typically consist of five or six boys, five or six girls, a male counselor and a female counselor. Campers are placed with peers who are in the same range of school grades. Campers in a group stay together throughout their time at camp to build community. At mealtimes, morning devotions, and events like the Winger Games, campers from some or all of the groups at camp come together.
Who will my counselors be?
Everyone finds out who their counselors are when they arrive at camp and check in. The Christian men and women who comprise our staff are often former campers, while others are recruited from local churches and area colleges. Some summers, we employ a handful of talented young people from countries all over the world.
What will I eat at camp?
Our meals are very kid friendly. Camper favorites include spaghetti, pizza, burgers, lasagna, tacos, and macaroni and cheese. Sides and a salad bar are included with lunch and dinner.
Food is served family style, which means each group of campers receives big bowls of the meal’s food items to share. Campers choose which items to add to their plates. If the group finishes the initial serving, they can return to the kitchen for extras.
We can usually accommodate most common dietary restrictions. Our summer camp menu is peanut- and tree-nut free. At each meal, we offer an alternative entree and sides for those with gluten allergies or vegetarian diets.

How is Christian faith practiced at camp? If I don’t attend church regularly, will I fit in?
As a Christian camp, we seek to build a Christ-centered community of trust, openness, sharing and forgiveness, where campers can play, laugh, work, worship and grow together, spiritually, physically, emotionally, and socially.
We welcome persons of every race, color, gender, religion, nationality, and physical ability. Campers of many faith traditions, as well as campers who have never been to church before, attend and enjoy Camp Hanover’s summer camp program.
We ask that all campers participate in Bible study and worship. Jesus Christ, as the Word becomes flesh, is central to our program. Each morning, the whole camp comes together for devotions. Campers ask God to bless each meal, usually through song. We also observe vespers and have praise and worship nights. Campers are involved in planning these worship activities with either the week’s pastor-in-residence or their counselors.
An atmosphere of acceptance of and caring for others is a key aspect of the community we build at camp. It’s a community where campers learn to appreciate and value one another. We strive to create an environment where campers and staff feel comfortable, loved, and can have fun talking about, exploring, and practicing their faith.
Are medical staff on duty?
YES. We have medical personnel on duty 24 hours a day in our Health Center. During check-in you will have the opportunity to discuss any health concerns with the camp nurse. Additionally, our summer camp staff are trained in first aid and CPR. In preparation for summer camp, we invite local Emergency Medical Services personnel to the site so they may become familiar with our layout and review our emergency plan.
