Camp Hanover needs volunteers for Fun Day, our open house, on Sunday, April 26. At this event, families will experience a taste of summer camp. This is especially helpful for first-time campers and their families to prepare for camp. Help us create an amazing experience for them at Fun Day by donating your time.
Available Roles
- Welcome – check in guests as they arrive
- Parking – direct cars
- Kitchen – restock food, beverages, and supplies
- Program assistance – assist guests with arts & crafts, campfire cooking, canoeing, and/or climbing wall
At canoeing, volunteers may assist guests in selecting PFDs and getting in and out of canoes (previous experience helpful). A Camp Hanover lifeguard will supervise participants on the water. At the climbing wall, volunteers may assist guests in putting on safety gear (previous experience helpful). A Camp Hanover climbing wall coordinator will supervise participants on the wall.
Time Commitment
The event runs from 2 to 5 p.m. Most volunteers should arrive at 1 p.m. to learn about their roles and get into position. If you are interested in volunteering, but can’t arrive at 1, please let us know in your message when you are available.
Ages
Volunteers should be ages 16 and up. Children attending Fun Day as guests must be supervised by a family member or friend aged 18 or older.
